What's new?!

BIG NEWS: We are hugely grateful to Arts Council England for awarding Charnwood Arts further National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) status. This funding means our work will receive regular public investment for a further three years, starting in April 2023 in addition to the funding received for the rest of this financial year. We are just one of the 990 organisations who will receive a share of £446 million investment and in the current climate we are truly appreciative for the fantastic opportunity to continue our work here in Loughborough.

A final exhibition of the project’s creative outputs exploring memories of Partition, migration and the 1971 Liberation war of Bangladesh and their significance to contemporary Britain.

We're excited to share that the ‘Creative Memory’ exhibition is taking place at Charnwood Arts from Monday 6th – Monday 20th March 2023, open Monday – Friday 10am – 3.30pm. This exhibition is a showcase of the creative outputs produced by community groups in Loughborough, Leicester and London that explore memories of Partition, the Bangladeshi Liberation war, expulsion from East Africa, and migration to the UK. The exhibition is part of the Migrant Memory and the Postcolonial Imagination (MMPI) project and consists of family photographs, photographed activities, films, music videos and sound installations that centre around the themes of identity, ‘home’ and belonging.
