We are always looking for volunteers to come and work with us in a number of ways. We can offer training and experience in arts management but we also want to hear your ideas for any projects that you you would like us to consider to help you get it off the ground

Charnwood Arts embraces community, enabling people of all ages, skills, abilities and experience to participate in the arts across all its forms and at all levels, in a variety of roles
FREE Outdoor Family Theatre
We were delighted to work in partnership with Charnwood Forest Geopark and Live & Local to offer a series of FREE outdoor theatre shows in Spring / Summer 2022.
As part of our Celebrating Charnwood project within the Charnwood Forest Geopark, Charnwood Arts selected two brilliantly fun and exciting outdoor theatre shows, from Live & Local's rural theatre touring programme, to take to local communities within the Borough. At each event there was a FREE outdoor theatre show to see, complimented by creative activities inspired by nature. Great for children of all ages and their families!
Here are the shows we chose...
'Grow Your Own' by The Fairly Famous Family
Sit amongst the flowers on the perfect grassy lawn (provided!) and enjoy magic disappearing slugs, a recreation of Peter Rabbit's daring escape from Mr. McGregor's sack as well as lots of juggling and comedy cookery.
This show is lots of fun and very family friendly with its highly visual fruit and vegetable based comedy.
'Arbour the Tree' by Smoking Apples
Part Man. Part Tree. 17 feet tall. Meet Arbor.
Follow Arbor as he strides around the woodland vanishing between trees and emerging with his cart full of tree seeds. Arbor tells the story of a tree pushed from his home and his fight to preserve his future. Encouraging the audience to plant and nurture their own trees, Arbor will give each person some seeds to take home, leaving a legacy that will last for generations.
Arbor is a visually stunning show with lots of lovable puppets!
