Built in the eighteenth century, probably of red brick, later rendered. At the back of the pub, "1758" is picked out in blue brick.
Home of Loughborough Folk Club, held upstairs on 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 8.30pm.
Reputedly a meeting place for the Luddites before their attack on Heathcoat's lace factory in 1816. It was also a Chartist Movement meeting house.
