Streets Alive

Information

Streets Alive began as a street arts festival in Loughborough in May 1997. A partnership project between Charnwood Arts and Charnwood Borough Council, the event has seen hundreds of performances from international to local artists providing a wealth of artistic and cultural experiences for for many thousands of people. As an integral part of the Charnwood and now Heart of Three Cities Festivals the event also acts as a showcase for local and emerging talents. Over the years we have developed a number of feed in projects to the event including the development of Sambando, the creation of a samba dance project, large outdoor murals, arts workshops and the creation of giant carnival figures and carnival procession.
