Our first ‘Home from Home’ project is an inter-generational project in the form of a collaboration with the Badger Court Poetry Group and our Artzone programme for creative work with children and young people.
Elderly residents at Badger Court, a sheltered housing complex in Loughborough, take part in a monthly poetry recital group, led by Louie Carr.
Jemma Bagley and James Chantry of Charnwood Arts have been along to film these readings, that range from the deeply moving to lighthearted fun and humorous offerings.
Young people attending our Artzone workshop on the 15th June this summer will create animations that will be layered upon the poetry films we have made with the Badger Court residents. using found objects, drawings, cutouts and photographs.
Some of the poets included personal stories within their writing, stories that may have gone unheard, stories that can be enjoyed by future generations.
