New Pineapster CD

It was a long time in coming, but the first Pineapster compilation CD was finally put together for sale through the left legged Pineapple shop and on-line.

The CD included 13 tracks from some of the most exciting musicians working in the East Midlands, this is a maelstrom of different takes on the world and its music. Styles on the CD range from punk to jazz, samba to rock, traditional West African rhythms to ballads.

The CD features Beats Working, Headrush, New Hole In Her Head, Heartland, Pillowtalk, B@SiC, Moon, Feedback, radium88, Sideshow, Yangtze, Blunt and Mambo Jambo from way down south - we included them after they played Strrets Alive for Charnwood Arts and went down a storm!

Pineapster was conceived a long-term collaboration between cuttlefish.com and Charnwood Arts, supported by the Left Legged Pineapple. The idea of first the website, then the CD, has been to provide a resource for fans and musicians, to bring different musicians, audiences, and music businesses together, to create a sense of community, to cross fertilize the many different “scenes” in the East Midlands. The CD is the latest stage in this process, which will soon see a series of launch-party gigs in Loughborough, Leicester and Nottingham.
