Choices Project Launch

Information

A launch event for the Choices group to present their work to the community. After more than two years of hard work (and lots of fun) the peer drugs education group Choices were delighted to hold an official launch of their work at Burleigh Community College.

The launch was attended by the Director for Education for Leicestershire, Jackie Strong, who praised the work of the girls and the strength of the partnerships supporting the project.

It was a great evening and the quality of the film projected digitally on a big screen was fantastic and very well received.

The booklet, video cassette and posters are available to youth and community workers and schools within the Charnwood area. All three items work together to raise questions and lead discussion within a contemporary context which looks at the behaviour of a group of young people around bullying, use of alchohol and drugs, relationships and parental worries and viewpoints.

The launch was a fantastic event with good support from the local community. Charnwood Arts were delighted to be able to work with the group over the two years on this project which was largely funded through the Prince's Trust Millennium Awards Scheme.
