Dear ArtZoner

January sees the return of ArtZone to Charnwood Museum. The Saturday morning childrens art session has been running since 2007. Its had a little break but thanks to the Friends of Charnwood Museum its back for three creative sessions.

The first session is on January the 31st. To coincide with the exhibition at Charnwood Museum exploring Queens Halls previous use as a swimming baths.

Local artist and ArtZone favourite Jo Sheppard will lead 'A Bigger Splash' Inspired by David Hockneys pop art painting A Bigger Splash the group will create their own pop art painting


The ArtZone sessions are designed for children aged between 8 and 15. The workshop leaders are all practising local artists. The sessions start at 10.30am and finish at 12 noon. The sessions cost £5 per person and £3 for those on means tested benefits. Please ring Charnwood Museum 01509233754 to book your place or pop in and talk to the staff at the desk.

28th February. To coincide with Charnwood Arts Majid Saeedi photographic exhibition

"Afghan Kites" Make a kite with Sarah Green in the simple Afghan style by upcycling plastic carrier bags and then decorate with traditional patterns. With Sarah Gree

21st March 'Little Monsters" Design and make your own little felted monster with Evelyn from The Piebald Craft Project.


ArtZone is a partnership project between Charnwood Arts and Charnwood Museum.
