The Jitty

Information

A website by young people, for young people, in Leicestershire.

“The Jitty”, is a website created especially for Young People (13-19) in Leicestershire. And it aims to provide you with information, advice and support to let you make an informed decision at key points in your life.

So what’s on there then? Well, there are competitions with awesome prizes (one of which in the past was a 20GB MP3 Player), along with Film/CD reviews, and articles on more serious issues that might affect you at some stage such as bullying, exams or crime. There is also a chat forum where you can talk to other young people from around the County about things that are important to you.

If you really like the site then it’s possible to get involved further by becoming an “editor”, where you can submit articles and have a say in how the website is run, or you could even become a moderator. Anyone aged between 13 and 19 is welcome to join the “editors” group, and there is a “Join Up” section on the website which gives details on how to become involved.

The Jitty has won a national award from “Wavemakers”, and we average about 10,000 visits a month, which is a lot!
