Charnwood Community Theatre

Welcome to Charnwood Community Theatre

We are an amateur drama group based in Leicestershire.

We are based at Fearon Hall in Loughborough, and perform in the Charnwood and North-West Leicestershire area. We occasionally take entertainment to Village Halls and similar small venues which normally see little live theatre.

We welcome everybody who has a genuine enthusiasm for theatre, whatever their level of experience. You don't have to pass an audition to join us!

CCT aims to entertain, and sometimes challenge, our audiences. But we also like to do things differently from other drama groups . . .

We welcome EVERYBODY. No need to take an audition! If you have an interest in theatre, we welcome you. The age range of our current active membership is 15 to 70, with one of our recent productions being directed by an 18 year old.

We try different things. As well as performing works by professional writers, we have staged plays and pantomimes written by group members. Feedback from our audiences tells us that they like to be challenged with new entertainment as well as the comfort of more traditional fare. We also hold regular play readings as well as workshops, run by members of the group and sometimes by a professional director.

We appreciate that our members have lives outside CCT. We take a professional attitude in that we expect full commitment from members who have opted to be involved in a current production. But it’s OK to take a break from productions when you want. We don’t tie members in with an annual subscription – you just make a modest voluntary contribution towards rehearsal space hire and refreshments when you’re involved in a production.
