Blooming Pond life

Blooming Pond life

Thu 12th July, 2012 by Big Knitting Group

The Big Knitting group have produced a pond for this years Loughborough in Bloom effort. The pond has been displayed in the council offices and yesterday, the 11th July Jemma Bagley from Charnwood Arts met with the judges and explained this years project to them. Every garden should have one! The finger knitted 'water' was produced by volunteer knitter Tahlita Sinfield at family learning sessions that she ran at Cobden School. More 'water' was also produced by our friends from Birstall knitting group. Other elements were made by members of the group and their friends. The pond will be set up outside the United Reformed Church for the In Your Neighbourhood' section of the competition. The pond will them be used as a storytelling learning resource at Shelthorpe Sure Start Centre.

The group has its last session today, the 12th July and will then break for the summer until September.
