Today eight young people aged between eight and twelve made a set of fabulous fake Blakes. Inspired by iconic artist Peter Blakes more recent work, they cut and collaged images taken from Arthur Mees Childrens Encyclopedia's. Blake himself uses Larousses Illustrated dictionaries and animal husbandry books. These images are not photoshopped but collaged together the old fashioned way man! It was great to see the workshop participants poring over the beautiful images and text in the books, no Googling looking for info here. Blake celebrates the extraordinariness of the everyday ,pop culture and the natural world around us.
