Charnwood Arts have been working with Taiwanese, but now Charnwood based, artist and curator Ming Turner on a new contemporary arts exhibition which will tour to the Chinese city of Chongqing in April 2010. Entitled Cyberspace and the Myth of Gender the exhibition features the work of artists living and working in Charnwood and artists from Taiwan. The project will also involve a series of artists talks in Chongqing. The director of Charnwood Arts will also be visiting Chongqing to pursue further talks on collaborations in the field of participatory arts following two previous visits which have included research and a project with three diverse communities through the British Council. It is hoped that further opportunities for exchange (of ideas and artists) will be created through the visits as well as providing new ideas and approaches for projects in Charnwood.
