A New Exhibition By Polish Photographer Jerzy Bucki

Jerzy is a committed amateur photographer, specializing in street photography, travel photography and documenting life in two regions of Poland: the industrial region of Upper Silesia and the unspoilt, “lost in time” region of Podlasie in Eastern Poland.

He is professionally engaged in financial services and uses his numerous opportunities to travel abroad to learn about other cultures. He is an active member of TrekEarth.com photo community.

Jerzy has exhibited in Charnwood before. He was one of six Polish photographers, living world wide, to exhibit works in the highly acclaimed "Protest" exhibition at Charnwood Museum in 2008.

The photograph above is called inDaClub. Jerzy tells the story behind it:

"Jorgus is in a local dialect (in the region of Katowice) equivalent to my name. As it happened the toughest guy's name was Jorgus. We immediately found a common language (not literally, my accent was too obvious). Jorgus was - without any doubts - THE man there. HE was setting the rules"

Selections from this exhibition can also be seen by visiting the website listed below.
